Express yourself: All movement matters.

When it comes to exercise, how much is enough? We are constantly bombarded with research and news articles that tell us we’re not getting enough exercise, and that we have to move more

  • Does that mean that I have to set aside three hours to go to the gym every day? (No.)

  • Do I need to get a treadmill desk? (No.)

  • What about weight training, does that count? (Yes.)

  • Does Pilates count? (Yes.)

  • Do I have to do HIIT? What does that even stand for? (High-intensity interval training, and no.)

This can get pretty overwhelming, pretty fast. What’s the “right” answer?

Walking and other cardiovascular exercises are great for heart health, while resistance training is important for muscles, bones, and joints.

But ultimately, it’s about finding the right fit for you, and listening to what works for your body. Do you love ultra-marathons? Great! Love TRX classes? Great!

What gets you excited? What gets you motivated? What makes you want to move?

Here at Acuity Pilates Studio, we want to encourage you to move, in any which way. (Safely, of course 😉.) Take your time to find an instructor who resonates with you, try different classes to see what style you like. We even have 25-minute classes, if you don’t want to commit to something longer.

Honestly, all movement matters, and when you can find some joy in your movement, then it matters even more.
