Our Online Pilates Classes.
Core Connections
The Core Connections class focuses on core strength and connections in the centre. It’s similar to a traditional Pilates class with an emphasis on ab, glute, and shoulder strength, spinal and overall mobility. This session provides a low-impact, full-body workout that won’t have you breaking a sweat. It’s an excellent adjunct to gym and strength training and will help improve your ability to participate in daily activities.
Who this class is for: This is an open-level class for everyone, from beginner to advanced. No preparation or previous experience is required.
You’ll leave this session: Feeling taller, stronger and more connected to your body.
What our instructor says: "It's all about strength and length in this zero impact fusion class. Expect a lot of core work, glute and leg strengthening, and upper body exercises mixed in with big stretches and some mindful breath work."
Contemporary Classics
The Contemporary Classics class works through more of the classical Pilates mat repertoire, including inversions and more intensive abdominal, glute, and arm work. There's still an emphasis on mobility with strength, as well as mind-body connections. Expect to get a bit more of a sweat on and be challenged to (safely) push your body a little further and a little harder. This is the only class that focuses on improving Pilates-specific moves.
Who this class is for: This is an intermediate class that’s more intensive than the open-level classes and designed for people who have taken at least a few Pilates classes. However, our instructors will still offer personalized feedback and provide other options for movement so no one is left behind.
You’ll leave this class: Feeling stronger, with improved strength for everyday activities as well as other exercise modalities.
What our instructor says: "This class is inspired by the classical Pilates mat repertoire but is all about adding a twist or two. We recommend you try a couple of Pilates classes before joining this one. Intermediate level, although we can always accommodate!"
Movement Explorations
The Movement Exploration Class emphasizes exploring the movement possibilities of the body and uncovering your movement potential. These sessions incorporate Pilates, Feldenkrais, somatic, yoga, and other movement modalities and the theme for each class is chosen by the participants. In these classes, you’ll learn about new ways to move your body and find muscles you didn't even know you had. It’s great for functional mobility, getting back to exercise, as an adjunct to rehab and for seniors.
Who this class is for: This is an open-level class for anyone, from beginner to advanced. No preparation or previous experience is required.
You’ll leave this class: Feeling more relaxed, connected and settled in your body, with a greater understanding of your anatomy and movement potential.
What our instructor says: "This class is based on the Pilates principles of breathing, centring, concentration, precision, control, and flow. You will break movements down to build them up, leaving you feeling stronger and more resilient. That might sound easy, but we promise that it's not!"
